Artisans I love: Katie from Loveable Treasures

Time to introduce one of my all time favourite Etsy artist, Katie from Loveable Treasures!
Katie is a wonderful, kind and talented artisan - and a good friend too! : )

At the beginning I fell for her stunning needle felted animals, but I recently discovered she's also a great miniaturist, not to mention her jointed bears and elephants.. at the moment I am the lucky owner of four of her critters - a kitten, a baby owl, a lovely little ellie and a miniature otter - and I can assure I never get tired of looking at them with admiration!  : )

Whenever you have a moment, take a look at her creations - it is so relaxing to see so many cute and amazing pieces, and you might even decide that you deserve a little treat after the big Christmas rush!

Hope you will like her work as much as I do!  : )

Gift wrapping ideas, part 2

The first post about gift wrapping was quite much appreciated, so I decided to share here some more inspiring links.. even if I have to admit that I haven't start packaging any of my gifts yet!  :P

Hope you enjoy!  : )

Cozy wrapping from Boxwood Clippings - a smart way to recycle old wooly sweaters.

Glittery leaves from The Rowdy Stroudy - little effort, big result!

Simple embellishments from Stephmodo - check out the lovely mittens garland!  : )

A lot of funny ideas by Bugs and fishes, from fake parcels to faux bois.

The Holiday Guide by Emily Henderson - needless to say, my fav project is this gorgeous peacock ornament by Ez Pudewa.  : )

Graph paper & Fabric tape by A Creative Mint - which ain't strictly about crafting, but has so many beautiful pics to be definitely worth a visit.

And could I miss a link to the Nice Package Blog

Hope this is going to be helpful!  : )

( the first pic in this post comes from Martha Stewart )

Stockholm Chistmas market

I've been in Stockholm a couple times last year, and the whole town was even more charming at Christmas time.
I've always been a very nostalgic person, and for several reasons it makes me a bit sad to think about the beautiful weeks I spent in Sweden last winter.
Well, I just hope these words don't clash too much with the holiday cheerfulness of the pics..
Wish you a lovely week,

Mij

I had so much fun sculpting these cuties last month, and it's been a bit sad to part from them, one by one..
Hope they're new owners will like them and take good care.

Hope you like them!

Golden snowflakes

This lovely tiny elf is less than 3/8 of an inch long, and what he likes the most is looking at the snow falling outside.
So - warm and cozy in his red and gold suit - he just stands next to his magic window, and stares at the beautiful golden snowflakes flying down from a white winter sky..

The metal cameo base measures slightly more than one inch in height, and is more or less 7/8 of an inch large.

I like so much the contrast between the matt background and the delicate antique gold shimmering of the snowflakes..

Wish you a lovely weekend! : )
