So, once again the hearts&chocolates season is here! : )
I am feeling rather romantic this year, and much willing to succumb to the oh-so-mainstream Valentine's celebrations. Stereotypical as it gets, it's still an opportunity to bake something special and light up cloudy winter days with a sprinkle of delicate pink or passionate red!
And, as usual, the best way to make Valentine's day less anonymous is to celebrate with a little crafty project, right? So I present you this year's selection. Hope you enjoy! ; )
DIY heart sweater tutorial from A beautiful mess. Ok, certainly not a suitable gift for a boyfriend, but so very cute (expecially if you're planning a romantic evening at home).
Pavlova Hearts with chantilly cream and raspberries from Return to Sunday Supper. These ones look so beautiful AND delicious that I can't wait to try them.. maybe even before February 14th. : )
Romantic message in a bottle, and a splash of colorful hearts! : )
So simple and sweet!
(this one is from Hazel loves Design)
Love the contrast between the bright pink, the neutral cardboard and the sparkle of gold! : )
And they seem rather easy and quick too!
Mini boats made from walnut shells make cute placeholders for a romantic dinner (from Knot Magazine, pag. 14)
If you want to keep it funny (and if your beloved one likes dinosaurs) you might decide to recreate the DIY Valentine Dino from Lovely Indeed, which I personally think is super cute! : )
Guys and girls both love sweet treats, so I guess you can't possibly go wrong with these raspberry Napoleons from Picture the Recipe..
..but if you want to go big, this scrumptious white chocolate cake is probably the right thing for you! : )
(from Maple Spice) (and yes, in case you are wondering, I love raspberries very very much!)
Now, in case you want to add a simple handmade card, you will find free templates and instructions at MiniEco
Are you late and in a hurry, in need of something super quick? Check out the lovely free chalkboard printables from Nest of Posies.. I like their simple, vintage style. : )
(or just click any of the following images, which are just some of last year's suggestions.)
Well, I wish you a romantic and crafty weekend! : )
Mijbil Creatures will be back on Monday, with a special Valentine surprise for you (at least if I manage to finish it in time! :P )
Big hugs to all of you,
Ps: you can find a custom mug tutorial here. I made it for Christmas, but I suppose that a touch of red and a few handdrawn hearts would make it very suitable for a Valentine's gift! : )
