December was..

December was a bit crazy, actually, and so was most of my 2014.

So my purposes for the New Year are:

- grow up: I'll turn 30 next spring, so adulthood can not
be procrastinated any longer, I fear : )
- dare more: one can do a lot of bad mistakes even when trying to be
reasonable, anyway, so let's be brave and try harder!
- be happy, and try to make others happy as well.
Happiness is always worth working hard for  : )

And of course, I wish you all a Happy New Year! <3

God Jul!

God Jul!

(which is Swedish for "Merry Christmas", of course)

Wish you all a peaceful, scrumptious, funny,
friendly, lazy, joyful Christmas! : )

Munny Winter Fauns, finally

Finally, some new art toys! : )

Three little winter fauns, with soft wool scarves and golden snowflake tattooes on their backs!
Each one of them is a OOAK piece, and they'll soon be available in my Storenvy shop!

Mijbil's Christmas Faun free printables!

One week left before Christmas, and I'm afraid I am terribly late!

But here's my little surprise: a cute winter faun for you to
print and use as a Christmas card or gift tag! :)

It was fun to go back to watercolours for once, and try out some variations on the Nordic patterns I love so much.

Also, some new sculpted faun figurines are coming soon! : )

and here the one to the full size image

Enjoy! : )

Christmas gift wrapping and free printables 2014

Today is St. Lucia, which in Sweden always means big celebrations..
and Lussekatter, namely soft saffron buns with raisin. And candles,
of course, and songs and long white dresses for the girls.

And since St. Lucia is considered the official start of the Christmas season,
here are some cute & simple gift wrapping ideas I found here and there.

Hope you'll love them!

Minimal: white or kraft paper with a tiny fir sprig on top (this one is from 79 Ideas)

Maybe with little variations, such as a leather cord..
(from Stocksy)

..or some splatter white paint that looks like snow (from Go Forth)

Twig + red felted berries + natural twine, from Rue Rococo
(I really love this one, and I suppose one could use
real berries, or beads or ponpons instead)

Sweet Paul Magazine is always a wonderful resource around Christmas,
so if you want a more festive result just pick some bright red paper and add tiny bells! :)

..or get some acrylic paint and create your own Scandinavian pattern!
(from last year's post here on Mijbil Creatures)

Oh, and easy DIY gift toppers from The House That Lars Built

And finally, lovely DIY wreath gift labels from Damask Love

Now up to the free printables part!

Beautiful gift tags from We Lived Happily Ever After

Free printable snow wrapping paper from MrPrintables

..and black and white boxes and tags from Studio DIY.

And in case you are looking for extra inspiration, here is my

Gift Wrapping Ideas board on Pinterest

Wish you a lovely Advent weekend! :)

Meet Silke The Cat

We've had a furry guest for a couple weeks (while his owner was on holiday)..
He didn't stay for so long, after all, but it was enough to turn our flat into a mess, I have to admit.

Silke apparently loves to bump into random objects, destroy glasses (even better if full of water), sit in the sink, dig into flower pots, scratch the couch and bite our shoes.

And he is, overall, quite adorable - althught not terribly bright, I have to admit. : )

So, see you soon silly cuddly cat, miss you already!
